Far Away

Corcadorca brought Churchill’s acclaimed anti-war play, Far Away, to Spike Island for the Cork Midsummer Festival. Audience arrived by ferry from Cobh as darkness fell on the island where Fort Mitchel provided an impressive backdrop for Corcadorca’s promenade production.

A large local community cast performed in Far Away creating the parade of behatted prisoners of Churchill’s script.

Mel Mercier won Best Soundscape, and Aedin Cosgrove & Paul Keogan won Best Lighting Design in the Irish Times Theatre Awards 2017 for Far Away.
