The Corcadorca Theatre Development Centre (CTDC) was established by Corcadorca in 2011. It is a studio space dedicated to the development of professional theatre.
CTDC is located at the Triskel Arts Centre, Tobin Street in Cork city centre. Corcadorca makes the space available to theatre makers to develop new work through residencies.
Makers usually take the space for a week-long residency. How they spend their time in the CTDC is for them to decide and Corcadorca will tailor support for each residency. An audience is invited to attend a showing of the work at the end of the residency. Technical support is offered by Corcadorca for these showings, after which there is a facilitated panel discussion with theatre professionals.
We also offer online residencies so that we can reach artists based outside of Cork who have ideas for theatre pieces ready to develop. The company will support the development of the idea, creatively and practically, with zoom meetings over a number of weeks, leading towards a video presentation which reflects the work-in-progress. Each presentation will be followed by an online post-show discussion with the artists. The artists will also have the option of platforming their presentations on our website and made available to the wider theatre community.
You can see the presentations from our Online Residencies 2021 in the link below:
