Plasticine

All these terrible things are there, but you don’t suffer. You just think that it’s life.
Vassily Sigarev on Plasticine

The year 2010 saw Corcadorca premiere Plasticine, Vassily Sigarev’s award winning play. Set in post-communist Russia, we follow Maksim, a young teenage boy, through the chaotic world he shares with characters that display a violence and unpredictability that is relentless.

Plasticine was staged in The Savoy theatre, in the heart of Cork city. The Savoy, spread over two levels and retaining its grandeur of an old style theatre with chandeliers, rich maroon carpets and dark wood bars, complemented the darkness of Sigarev’s script perfectly.
